Our Community

Together, credit union members and staff impact the communities we serve.

Your experience with Scott Credit Union is about more than money; it’s about getting the most value for your money and building better financial futures.

Our Board of Directors consists of members who are volunteers. They provide strategic direction, driven by our members’ needs. Credit unions typically pay more interest on savings, charge lower rates on loans, and help members avoid many of the fees that banks charge their customers. In addition, SCU is committed to serving the communities where we live and work.

Scott Credit Union Community Impact
SCU has a long tradition of supporting the communities we serve in the Chicago, Illinois and St. Louis, Missouri metro areas. The Scott Credit Union Community Foundation was established in 2018 to expand our reach and amplify community support.
With You Program
A primary focus of the Scott Credit Union Community Foundation is to support initiatives at local schools. The With You Program was created in 2020, giving schools the opportunity to apply for funding to complete projects. Since 2020, the Foundation has allocated over $205,000 to a variety of school projects. In 2023, the SCU Community Foundation allocated $100,000 for the With You Grant Program. Congratulations to the 2023 Grant Recipients!

Our Team
Volunteer Incentive Program

Our employees are really VIPs!

Scott Credit Union’s Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP) is a unique program that rewards staff members for their volunteer hours in the community. Since the program launched in 2008, Scott Credit Union employees have generously worked almost 24,000 hours for various community and philanthropic events.

At SCU, community service brings us together. Credit union employees have a heart for serving our neighbors and members.

“It was once said that if you want to touch the past, touch a rock. If you want to touch the present, touch a flower. If you want to touch the future, touch a life. SCU’s VIP Program has given me the ability to make an impact within the communities we serve in so many ways. I’ve been able to assist with building homes for those who have served our country, walked in parades, and coordinated a supply drive for the local Humane Society. There is such a wide variety of events to volunteer at. Everyone has a cause that speaks to them – If you see it, do it. The VIP program means so much to me, and to countless others. I am excited to continue my service to our communities in 2024 and beyond.”

Acommunity - SCU Community Involvement

Requesting Support from SCU

SCU has contributed almost $3.7 million and encouraged employee volunteerism for a variety of local civic efforts and financial education. We have increased our community involvement and focus on education to improve financial literacy and equitable opportunity throughout the region we serve.

If your group, organization, or event needs support, please contact the Scott Credit Union Community Relations team to submit a request at least four weeks prior to your event. We look forward to supporting the causes you value, building up our community together. Credit union membership is truly more than financial services at SCU.
